ARTIST STATEMENT

I started my artistic journey by studying Graphic Design in Iran and continued in Canada at George Brown College in 2009. After years of art and cultural experiences, I refreshed my artistic development by going back to academia to extend my creativity as an interdisciplinary artist in 2016. I've had a special interest in pottery since I learned Art History in high school. I didn't let this desire fade away. Besides taking ceramic courses at the university I took pottery and glazing classes separately which led me to grow my skills and find my unique style in ceramic art at my independent studio. My ceramic objects are usually one edition and hold my instant connection with the materials and design. I started a new clay collection with multi-functionality as a vase or necklace that I am inspired by the Middle Eastern ancient vases and architecture to create them.
