Frequently Asked Questions

Classes

All your classes are sold out. Will more classes become available?
Every season the next semester of classes becomes available for enrolment.

For example: In spring, the summer course enrolment opens up.

Classes fill up quickly, and our cancellation waitlist is typically very long.

Do I need any experience with clay or ceramics to take a class?
No you don’t. All of our pottery classes are great for absolute beginners up to and including intermediate level potters looking for space to practice and improve.

Do I need to be a member to take a class?
Anyone 18 years and older can register for a class. You do not need to be a member of Toronto Potters to enrol.

I’ve registered for classes but my availability has changed, can I get a refund or attend a make up class on another date?
Sorry, all class registration fees are non-refundable and there are no make-up classes available.

Membership & Studio

Who are your members? Who should pursue membership?
Our members are largely established and developing potters and ceramic artists across the GTA. If you are a practicing ceramic artist interested in connecting to a community of like-minded makers, taking part in sales, events and exhibitions, or making use of our resources and programming for makers and artists like yourself, consider becoming an annual member.

I have some experience working with clay, can I use your studio space?
Our studio space is for classes and the on going work of our current Studio Residents.

What kind of membership do I need to use your studio?
General Members in good standing may apply for Studio Membership. Application does not guarantee placement as a Studio Resident. We assess applicants and operational capacity before taking on new Studio Residents.

We are not currently accepting Studio Resident applications as our studio space is full.
