with Marc Egan

Marc Egan has exhibited his pottery across Canada and in the US since 1993. On Sept. 23, he will discuss his journey as a ceramic artist and will focus on his recent work in the exhibition "Elaborate" at Harbourfront Centre in 2024.

Marc graduated from Sheridan College, School of Crafts and Design, Oakville, ON with a Major in Ceramics in 1990.  Since that time he has been producing decorated earthenware pottery and sculpture in his Toronto studio. 

From 1991-1994 he was artist in residence at the Ceramic Studio at Harbourfront Centre, and subsequently became an advisor to the Harbourfront Ceramic Studio. Since graduation from Sheridan, Marc has been a ceramics instructor at Harbourfront Centre, George Brown College, and the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art in Toronto. He has also been Artist in Residence at the Fundacio Taller J. Liorens Artigas, Gallifa, Spain, at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design. More recently, he has gained renown as the glaze instructor at Sheridan College.

Marc has received many awards including at the Royal Doulton Award for Best Ceramics in Show at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, 1994 and 1998, and the prestigious Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics in 2003 at the Clay and Glass Gallery in Waterloo, ON.

Marc Egan will be one of the jurors for the upcoming Toronto Potters Biennial Exhibition. 

Monthly Meetings will be held at  Toronto Potters Studio, 180 Shaw St. Studio #107, unless otherwise indicated

Toronto Potters invite all members to meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month between 7:00-8:30pm, to connect with colleagues and new members, to network and to find out what’s coming up in the community of ceramics.

No meetings take place in December, June, July or Aug.
