Call for Entry - Common Ground: 23rd Toronto Potters Biennale

TORONTO POTTERS 23nd BIENNIAL JURIED EXHIBITION

Common Ground

Dear Toronto Potters members:

In this Call For Entry we are inviting you to apply for the 23rd Toronto Potters Biennale that will take place in November and December 2025.

The title is “Common Ground”, to “evoke the idea of shared experience, especially the deeply rooted, tactile connection found in working with clay; this exhibition celebrates the coming together of artists from diverse backgrounds and with varied styles, unified by the communal spirit of ceramic practice. Through our individual stories and approaches, we aim to forge new paths toward understanding, connection, and community - both with one another and with the wider world.”

As in the past, there are the many awards to be won that have been donated by several Craft organizations and former members or supporters. The part of the biennale tradition is also production of an exhibition catalogue available in printed form and also on-line.

The deadline for applying is September 30st at midnight. The selection of pieces for the exhibition will be held on the October 18 and 19 at our studio at 180 Shaw Street by our jurors Marc Egan and Marissa Alexander. The exhibition will be held at the new Craft Ontario Gallery at the iconic 401 Richmond Street from November 7 till December 20. Please read carefully the Detailed Information and Guidelines Document for instructions for both the jurying process and the exhibition logistics.

All applicants must have active Toronto Potters membership.
