Silvia Hernández is the human behind Ceramics by Sil.

Engineer turned designer, she was born in a handicraft-loving family and learned about the magic of craftsmanship from a young age. Her love for ceramics bloomed during her time in London (UK). She started digging deeper into it first at Central Saint Martins School of Design, and later on at Turning Earth Studios.

Ceramics by Sil’s project started right after she landed in Toronto, the city she has been calling home for over two years. Her work is inspired by nature and influenced by her human-centred design self.Silvia focuses on hand-building pieces she is naturally drawn towards natural textures and colours. That said, she is continuously experimenting with new techniques.
