We serve tea and snacks in the cozy Toronto Potters Studio.
After a presentation about Indigenous ceramic artists in southwest USA from her first -hand experience, Carol will discuss the influence of these cultures on her RAKU work.
Carol Rossman has been potting since 1973 and selling professionally since 1985. Carol’s work in RAKU has been selected for many group shows over the years, in Toronto, London, The Ceramic Art Gallery in Australia. She has had solo shows at The Art Galley of Burlington, as well as The Canadian Guild of Craft in Montreal, The Carnegie Gallery in Dundas, The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in Waterloo, and Jonathon Bancroft Snell in London. She has won numerous awards for her work.
Special purchases have been made by the Federal Gift Bank, The Sky Dome Hotel, Fusion: The Ontario Clay and Glass Association, The Burlington Art Centre, and The Potters’ Guild of Hamilton and Region.
Outside of Canada, her work can be found in the United States, Great Britain, Kuwait, and Japan. Rossman’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including Ceramics Technical, National Ceramics, Ceramics Monthly, Contact, Fusion Magazine, 500 Raku Lark Ceramics, as well as: Making Marks and The Ceramic Spectrum, by Robin Hopper, Smashing Glazes (2001), The Craft and Art of Clay, and Working With Clay by Susan Peterson, and Carol Rossman by Jonathon Bancroft-Snell (2013).
Monthly Meetings will be held at Toronto Potters Studio, 180 Shaw St. Studio #107, unless otherwise indicated
Toronto Potters invite all members to meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month between 7:00-8:30pm, to connect with colleagues and new members, to network and to find out what’s coming up in the community of ceramics.
