January Monthly Meeting
Tuesday January 23rd 2024, 7:00-8:30pm
TORONTO POTTERS MONTHLY MEETING
Artist Talk
with Celina Kang
Gardiner Museum,
111 Queens Park, Auditorium
Programme Description
Celina Kang is a ceramic artist residing in Toronto, whose work is inspired by the colours and textures of weathered stone, sand and minerals.
Born in South Korea, she studied ceramics at university before coming to Canada in 2009 and then studied Interior Design in Vancouver.
With stoneware clay, Celina hand builds hollow shapes from slabs in a minimalist style. She intentionally chooses to restrict the shape, texture and colour of her vessel forms and sculptural objects to create timeless pieces.
Celina has exhibited her works in Toronto at The Petroff Gallery, Dish Gallery + Studio, Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, CABBAGETOWN FESTIVAL and the One-of-A-kind Show, and in Dundas ON at the Carnegie Gallery and in Bloomfield, ON at GUILDWORKS.
