Emily Lim is a Toronto-based ceramicist, photographer and educator. She teaches high school ceramics at Rosedale Heights School of the Arts.
Emily studied photography and painting at York University, graduating in 2003. During those years she also took bi-weekly pottery classes from Joan Kagan and learned how to throw. Slowly she began to work as Joan’s technician in exchange for classes. Emily took a break from ceramics while having three kids. In 2016 she moved from teaching photography to ceramics and has pushed her own ceramic skills forward. Her work is porcelain with coloured slip inlay. She likes to carve imagery onto the pottery and prefers to make decorative vases.
